I am an Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Skills section and offer one-to-one online Creative Writing Correspondence Courses (although friends can sign up at the same time so that their sessions run in parallel).
This course gives the opportunity for students to write creatively in their own time and then receive comprehensive feedback.
Each week comprises a main writing activity, examples and shorter supporting activities that focus on improving writing style. I tailor the activities to the interests of the student, although I aim to include all the main writing genres (plays, screenwriting, flash fiction, short story, scriptwriting, etc).
If a student is particularly keen on one genre, however, then I can tailor the course for their interests.
Each session should take an hour to complete.
The course is excellent support for the English GCSEs and past students have seen their grades improve, as well as their enjoyment of writing and creative thought.
