I am an Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold Skills section and offer Creative Writing Correspondence Courses.
This distance-learning course gives the opportunity for students to write imaginatively and then receive encouraging feedback.

The first six weeks comprise extracts to read, perhaps with a short skill activity, and then a linked creative writing prompt with written feedback notes after each session. After the sixth session, I do a recorded feedback to review the writing so far and to look at next steps. The following six weeks then focus on improving writing style, but otherwise follow a similar format.
Each session should take an hour to complete.
All options are excellent support for the English GCSEs and previous students have seen their grades improve, as well as their enjoyment of writing and creative thought. I have also had students return to do the course for their Silver D of E as well – the course changes so it can be done more than once.
